Looking ahead to the change of season, Città is celebrating the simple beauty of objects with their new collection, Still Life. Featuring an organic palette and natural materials, Still Life is about appreciating everyday things that adorn your space and embracing moments of contemplation, to bring a sense of calm and stillness.
Shot at a private residence in Auckland, the contemporary home provides a striking backdrop for the new collection, while a still life painting by Sydney-based artist Jude Rae sets the scene perfectly. Taking inspiration from nature, the calming tones of Still Life are portrayed with mossy green, earthy brown, smoky pepper, and warm biscuit. The materials of the collection give a further nod to nature with relaxed linen, cosy wool, warming wood, and hand-woven baskets.
A New Zealand design company that creates purposeful, original and beautiful furniture and homeware for every room in the home, Città has a talented team of product and textile designers who take inspiration from NZ and around the world. For Autumn/Winter 2020, the art of still life is depicted with abstract forms and simple compositions of illustrated flowers. Città's textile collections showcase these beautifully with cushion covers such as Still Life which features elemental illustrations inspired by everyday objects found at home, and Hydrangea, which makes a statement with its delicate petals. These pair perfectly with Citta's extensive range of cushion covers — including the handwoven Bolster and the Form Study designs — allowing for endless combinations to layer on the sofa or bed.
Still Life sees the introduction of some beautiful new furniture and homeware pieces. The Horizon Coffee Table and Horizon Side Table by in-house designers David Moreland and Nikolai Sorensen feature a clean yet sculptural feel with elegantly curved legs. The new collection's warm and earthy hues carry through to Città's clothing and accessories range with cosy pieces in linen and wool cashmere. Città also sell a range of complimentary brands including Vitra, Korbo, Artek, Nude, Asili, L:a Bruket and Compagne de Provence.
