Designer Emma Blomquist's Dream Apartment now for Sale

12.02.2019

If this Stockholm apartment looks familiar, you may have seen it featured earlier this year, when it was featured over on Residence magazine. I also referenced it in this blog post on how to create a sculptural feel in your home. The stunning interiors are hard to forget, and when I saw it listed for sale, I recognised it immediately. The owner, interior designer and owner of Apartment Stories, Emma Blomquist, has renovated the turn of the century apartment to enhance the original architecture, in keeping with her love of quiet colours in earthy tones.

The earthy colour palette carries through from the oak parquet flooring to the walls, ornate stucco and curtains, creating a seamless effect that is soft and calming. Clean lines of the side tables in glass and stone are softened by the organic curves of the sofa and the upholstered Pierre Jeanneret armchair.

In the kitchen, one of my favourite pendant lights, the Three-Arm Ceiling Lamp by Serge Mouille hangs above a kitchen island in Carrara marble. Emma, a former art historian, has collected a lot of works over the years, and made the sculptural torso herself.

Warm and elegant, I love how the compact bedrooms cleverly maximise vertical space with floor to ceiling cupboards.

A dream apartment, wouldn't you agree? You can see the full house tour here.
