BoConcept 2020 Collection

11.28.2019

As promised, following the recent BoConcept Discussion Panel I took part in, I've picked out some favourites from the new BoConcept 2020 Collection to share with you. First up is the Charlotte Chair, designed by Henrik Pedersen. A small armchair with a big personality, Charlotte's comfort, durability and beautiful design allow it to easily find its place in any room. With natural forms that offer a warm embrace, clean lines and an elegant aesthetic, I think it looks stunning in the bouclé-style Lazio fabric. The cotton-wool blend designed by heritage Italian fabric house Mario Sirtori is characterised by a textural finish that beckons you to touch it. I'm looking forward to testing this chair out, now that it has arrived at the Auckland showroom.

In response to a demand for darker woods, with more and more customers asking for this finish, BoConcept has updated two of its most successful lines, the award-winning Ottawa Collection and the Copenhagen wall system. Shown above, the Ottawa Dining Table's new dark oak finish brings richness and warmth to the smooth rounded edges and minimalist aesthetic. Like all BoConcept veneers, the quality of dark oak is exceptional and is hand-selected by the brand primarily from Canadian forests. BoConcept has also updated the collection sideboard in Dark Oak, and introduced new designs with dark oak options: the Augusta dining table and Manhattan sideboard.

The new collection sees the introduction of luxurious new Italian fabrics such as Dusty Brown cotton velvet, a beautiful match with the Amsterdam sofa, shown above and new Bermuda Footstool below.

The new extendable Augusta dining table designed by Henrik Pedersen presents a clear and undisguised play with shapes, while the visible construction adds an air of lightness. Available in both veneer and marble ceramic finishes, I love the sophistication of the dark marble (pictured above).

One of the questions I was asked during the Viva x BoConcept discussion panel was to name one piece of furniture people should be investing in right now. A hard one to answer, I do love the functionality of a great shelving unit, and BoConcept always has wonderful shelving solutions on offer. I love our Bordeaux Console by BoConcept, and was excited to see the newly introduced Paris Console table, designed by Morten Georgsen. An elegant storage solution perfect for both compact and larger spaces, it has a light, minimalist form and functional design expression. A marble-look top in black or white adds a textural finish that can be easily maintained.

The Philadelphia coffee table designed by Henrik Pedersen is another functional piece, providing plenty of space for displaying objects and keeping every day living room items in easy reach. Combining a bottom shelf and vertical storage, the open construction brings a lightness to the large table.

Designed by Morten Georgsen, Lisbon is a striking new cabinet featuring smoked glass doors and clever proportions. I love that the design features a bottom shelf to keep pieces on display. Lisbon is available in two heights, carefully crafted to give you the possibility to use the top as a display area, while still providing plenty of storage.

For 2020, BoConcept has introduced a luxury bed collection which includes the stunning Oxford. With its large headboard and oversized quilting, shown here in the luxe new purple cotton velvet, it has an incredibly rich and soft expression.

And remember, almost every piece can be customised to match your vision for home. To explore the 2020 collection in its entirety, order the catalogue for free here.
