ZAKKIA | 2016 Collection 02

8.19.2016

Since launching in 2012, Sydney-based homewares brand Zakkia has gone from strength to strength, gaining huge popularity across Australia and NZ. Now set to launch in Europe, they are getting ready to exhibit their latest collection at the showUP in Amsterdam from 21-22 August. As a huge fan of Zakkia myself, it gives me much pleasure in sharing their new collection Zakkia 16:02 with you today.

With a focus on quality hand craftsmanship and natural materials, Zakkia 16:02 is a collection of understated yet inherently unique design pieces for the home. The gorgeous speckle collection continues with new stoneware bottles, jugs and serving platters. Handmade by Zakkia's Vietnamese partners, the speckles are a natural reaction from the heat in the kilning process and it gives every product its own unique pattern. The introduction of Terrazzo stone brings another element of texture, with a new range of vases, vessels and a decorative pyramid. Incredible on their own, these pieces pair beautifully with the matt finishes of the raw range which include vases, storage jars and a bottle designed for pouring oil. Handmade by Zakkia's partner ceramic studio in northern Vietnam where they have been hand producing ceramics for over 900 years, the raw ceramic outer is complimented with a darker glaze inside to create a special tactile quality.

Other new pieces include the watering can, orbs and glass jars. Zakkia have also collaborated with Finnish-Australian Illustrator Meeri Anneli to create a range of beautiful cutting boards and trays.

Aside from the beautiful aesthetics, I love that each design possesses versatile qualities that will carry through time and everyday use. A dream collection, especially for us Scandi-style lovers! Now available on pre-order, visit Zakkia to shop online.
