Understated Elegance in Stockholm by AO/JND Interior and Nordiska Kök

1.27.2022

Located in a 19th century Stockholm building this elegant apartment designed by AO/JND Interior fuses French-inspired details with Scandinavian minimalism. Teaming up with Nordiska Kök to create the kitchen, the understated space blends marble and oak and features a glass entrance that echoes the home’s beautiful recurring arches.

The dining room and kitchen are seamlessly connected through the use of warm materials and tones, while the grey and white Calacatta Vagli Oro marble injects a touch of drama with its unique patterning. I love how the kitchen island grounds the space and is elegantly framed by the glass entrance walls and floor to ceiling cabinetry. A built-in fan and induction hob together with minimalist overhead cabinetry in dark wood enhance the kitchen’s clean and refined aesthetic.

The apartment features a stunning curation of furniture and lighting. These include the Tre Sekel dining table by Matti Carlson, Carl Hansen & Søn CH30 chairs by Hans J. Wegner and the Tube chandelier by Michael Anastassiades for Flos. In the kitchen, the Tubus Pendant, Book and Alabaster sconces are by Mallorca-based lighting studio Contain. The Oak Chevron flooring finished in Sandhammaren is by Chevron Parquet.
