The 2022 Australian Interior Design Awards shortlist has been revealed, with 184 projects recognised across the country for excellence in interior design. Returning for its 19th year, the Awards are known as the country’s leading industry-based awards program, celebrating the finest design across residential, commercial and public sectors. Recognised both domestically and internationally, the projects consistently include an impressive range of entries in the residential design and decoration categories, with 77 shortlisted from across the country for 2022. Today I’m pleased to share a selection of these inspiring projects with you.

Delivered by the Design Institute of Australia (DIA) and Architecture Media’s Artichoke magazine, this year’s program welcomes a return to the traditional awards schedule, following last year’s successful mid-campaign pivot to a digital broadcast.
This year’s jury, convened by Geraldine Maher, Director of Maher Design, includes Madeleine Blanchfield, Director of Madeleine Blanchfield Architects, Eid Goh, Director of Architects EAT, Stuart Krelle, Director of Luchetti Krelle, Rosie Morley, Principal of Fender Katsalidis, Jade Nottage, Director of Tom Mark Henry, Beatrix Rowe, Principal of Beatrix Rowe Interior Design, Peter Walker, Director of Cumulus Studio and Scott Walker, Principal of Hassell.
