THE DESIGN CHASER

Est Magazine | Latest Issue

11.22.2012

Est is one of my very favourite e-magazines, so I've been waiting with excitement for the latest issue, especially with news of their new look website which launched this week. I introduced you to Est a while back - if you missed it, take a look hereArriving hot off the virtual press yesterday, I dived on in and as always was met with pages of inspiring design, fashion, interiors and lifestyle goodness from around the world. If you haven't yet discovered this Australian digital publication, it really is a must-read.

Here's a sneak peek at some of what issue number seven has to offer.

Talk about impeccable taste. Est Editor in Chief Sian MacPherson shares her boutique finds from a two week stint in the Marais district of Paris, while Est contributors tell us what they are coveting right now for the home and wardrobe. I want one of everything!

Can you tell the difference between real and replica? A thought-provoking regular feature, in this issue we learn about the iconic design of the Tractor stool. Inspired by an old tractor seat found on the side of the road in Switzerland, the stool is a collaboration between Australian architect Craig Bassam and American creative director Scott Fellows. Launched at the 2003 Salone Furniture Fair, the Bassam Fellows stool has become an iconic design piece. I love the gorgeous styling which showcases the stool in its two sizes, against an exposed brick wall and simple hanging lights.

Est takes you on the most incredible house tours from around the globe, and I would have to say the latest issue delivers some of the best yet. The gorgeous house in Bordeaux, which graces the cover, mixes vintage design with neo-romantic styles and the result is magic. A stunning white canvas to which colour is added through art and quirky touches, I love the pink flamingo!

In Brisbane, we are taken through an amazing contemporary hilltop home with strong clean lines and an edgy rawness warmed up with loads of bright colour. It also has the most incredible spacial design allowing for seamless indoor-outdoor living, including a pool that will make your eyes pop!

A guide to Mallorca, the largest island of the Balearic archipelago islands in Spain, you will find out the best places to stay, eat and shop, while being swept away by beautiful images of this Mediterranean paradise
