Ask og Eng at Maison Jackie in Antwerp

Sustainable furniture and kitchen makers Ask og Eng have collaborated with Jackie Bohème to create kitchens for the new ‘home away from home’ Maison Jackie. Located 20 minutes from Antwerp, Belgium, Maison Jackie is housed in the former monastery of the last sisters of Niel. The strongly female, spiritual energy the sisters left behind has been deliberately translated into a soulful event space, where craftsmanship, interior design, fashion, food and yoga engage in an enriching dialogue.

Norway based Ask og Eng was founded by Kine Ask Stenersen and Kristoffer Eng in early 2016, after having built several sustainable kitchens and furniture for themselves over a number of years. The couple believes the kitchen should be a place of great food, laughter and loving - a reflection of a lust for life. Choosing Maison Jackie as their showroom in Belgium came about after what felt like a predestined encounter in Marrakesh with Ellen, founder of Jackie Bohème. Ellen, Kine and Kristoffer instantly connected over so much more than just staying in the same Riad. Not only do they work in similar industries, but they also have kids the same age and most definitely share a valuable eye for aesthetics. That meeting, filled with laughter and the immediate feeling of community, is what led Ask og Eng to Belgium, and what will no doubt be the start of many new and interesting projects.

For Maison Jackie, Ask of Eng has created two kitchens, one downstairs in the event foyer and another upstairs in the Japanese tea corner. Both display their beautiful aesthetics and craftsmanship. Guests can book an overnight stay to fully experience the luxury of Ask og Eng and all the rest that Maison Jackie has to offer.
