A master bedroom and ensuite makes for easy, functional living and once you've gotten used to this layout in your home, there's no turning back. Today I'm sharing three inspiring bedroom-ensuites that showcase different designs and aesthetics. The first is inside a stunning Queenslander that has been completely transformed by Est magazine Editor at Large Sian MacPherson. Located on the upstairs level of the beautiful home, the space acts as a luxurious retreat overlooking peaceful parklands.
Designed by UK-based firm McLean Quninlan, this next residence is located above the town of Jackson, Wyoming, and features an incredible master bedroom and open ensuite with expansive mountain views. A design that blends a European chalet aesthetic with the classic American cabin, the contemporary, earthy space is a mix of tactile stone, natural timber, organic plaster and sleek glass. Some of you will no doubt recognise the beautiful Douglas Fir flooring by Dinesen, which the architects imported from Denmark. A beautiful pairing with the natural stone wall, I love the recessed shelf above the bed and freestanding bath with floor mounted tap.
This minimalist master bedroom and ensuite was designed by Belgian design studio TJIP. Unique features include a curved doorway and curtain in place of a door. These elements soften the sharp lines of the pitched bathroom roof, while skylights provide plenty of natural light.
I'm taking a little break to celebrate the festivities and spend time with my family but before I go I'd like to say a HUGE thank you for following TDC this year. It's been a such a big one, so very rewarding, and I can't wait to see what 2018 brings!
Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas and safe travels. I will be around on Instagram but I hope like me you take some tech-free days to fully recharge! I will be back here on the blog on the 8th of January. See you in the New Year!!
x Michelle
