An architecture and interior design studio based in Melbourne, Meme Design is directed by designer Megan Hounslow and designer/architect Melanie Beynon. Working across a range of projects, the team create contemporary, finely crafted and customised spaces that celebrate materials, finishes, life, friends, family and individuality. The refurbishment of this small Edwardian home in Prahan was carried out by Meme Design with the strict adherence of a monochromatic colour pallet. One of the key features of the highly functional design is the open plan kitchen. It has joinery containing a hot desk area and appliance niche, a concealed fridge and dishwasher, designed to hide all signs of any ‘back of house’ functions and conceal as much clutter as possible. I love the attention to detail and textural elements in this home. There are also beautiful contrasts between light and dark.
The beautiful wall hanging in the bedroom by Justine Ashbee from Safari Living has gone straight to my wishlist! I also love the white tapware and towel rail in the bathroom.
