This gorgeous kitchen designed by Jamie Blake of Blakes London has a very 'English countryside' feel to it. I can't help imagining a weekend getaway where friends and family are gathered around the kitchen, while the kids are playing in the vast open-plan space and running outside in the sunshine.
The lovely mix of materials (seven in total) all compliment one another beautifully and work as well in this traditional style kitchen as they would in a more contemporary space. White painted floors and exposed bricks, together with carrara marble, wood and and copper accents provide warmth, texture and an overall Scandinavian feel, while the subway tiles and dark blue cabinetry (painted in Farrow & Ball Railings) are very much in keeping with the classic, industrial style of the interior. I love that the island is on castors, making it easy to move around. The built in herb garden is also a great idea!
If you like the style of this kitchen, I highly recommend checking out this renovation project by Blakes London. Another gorgeous, light-filled space, it has a similar Scandi-industrial vibe and beautiful mix of materials.
