THE DESIGN CHASER

MuBu Home

6.09.2016

Melbourne-based MuBu Home recently caught my attention when I stumbled upon some of their beautiful Scandinavian furniture. A timely discovery, co-founder Saskia informed me they were about to launch their very own line. Just released, I am very excited to share the new collection with you today, but first here's a look at some of the design brands they offer and the story behind MuBu Home

French-born Saskia and her Australian partner Michael spent several years travelling and living abroad before settling in Melbourne. Knowing that there is no place like home, they are passionate about creating that special sanctuary, and for them, that comes from simple, beautifully crafted furniture. They believe in filling the home with good quality things that resist the test of time but don’t cost the earth. Sourcing quality pieces of furniture and homewares from Scandinavian designers or those who are simply influenced by the principles of Scandinavian design, they love furniture that is strong, simple, honest and functional. International brands such as Sketch, Linnie Design and Bloomingville from Denmark sit alongside local brands such as the well-loved Kate & Kate. Ensuring that every single piece of furniture they pick is manufactured with quality at the core of the design process, Mubu's range consists of timeless pieces that are also fairly priced.

This ethos carries through to their own range of exquisitely simple, timeless furniture showcased below. Made in Australia with a lot of love, the new collection includes the Maya Queen Bed and two versatile Luna side tables; one round, and one rectangular. The gorgeous Maya Clothes Rack & Mirror would make a wonderful addition to the bedroom, while and Luna Console is perfect for the hallway.
