Kate & Kate x Superette Co Lab

I get really excited about creative collaborations, especially when it involves two favourites like Kate & Kate and Superette. No stranger to teaming up with amazing designers, and knowing that Kate & Kate is loved by many of their customers, Superette says creating an exclusive piece together was an obvious idea. Joining forces to create an exclusive blanket and now (after months in the making) the Kate & Kate x Superette Co Lab Blanket has launched! 

Featuring an exquisite mix of muted pink and grey, the hint of gold gives it a unique twist. A dream to style, it looks amazing in our living room alongside the gorgeous carry bag, which features one of the initial blanket designs.

The Week in Review

After a huge week, and very long to-do list today, I honestly didn't think I was going to get a post up. Then it occurred to me that you might like to see some of the fun things I've been up to this week, seen as they are all directly linked to the blog! 

Starting with some Instagram pics, the first is one I took yesterday at the Citta Design 2014 Winter Media Preview. Inspired by the city of Copenhagen, the gorgeous collection is titled A Winter's Tale and as you can imagine I can't wait to share it with you on the blog next week!

I've been planning my next post for the 3M Command Love Your Walls Series, and will be taking photos this weekend to share with you on the blog soon. Here's a peek at one of my new framed posters, sitting alongside the cutest little Kristian Vedel Bird from LET LIV...

...and some cute cards by Ragdoll Illustrations and Birdinabunnysuit which I'd love to frame! 

I've definitely felt the love today for Valentine's Day with surprise packages. Skin Food New Zealand sent me a lovely pamper pack, which I can't wait to try. I haven't yet opened the one from Pop Factory Shop but I have to say that the packaging alone is just gorgeous!

Earlier in the week we received a box of I Love Pies for the occasion. These pies are heavenly! Hubby was most impressed, as was our little one!

Lastly, I've been working with a lovely client in the South Island, helping her add some Scandinavian style to her home. I especially enjoyed working on her living room, for which she wanted clean simple lines, and calm muted colours. She plans to recover her existing sofas in grey, and wanted the S Print by Mash. Included in this room package (but not shown here) were some budget coffee table options, a range of black and white cushions, and lighting.

TDC Style Launch

For those of you who've been following my progress with TDC Style, I'm happy to report that the page is now live on the blog! For those just joining in, I've been working on launching an in-home and online styling service, with a peek here and there along the way. 



The page is accessible from the drop down menu panel at the top of the blog under Styling, or you can take a look here. I'd love to hear your feedback, and of course if you have any questions or would like a price list, please get in touch. 

You'll also find me over on the blog Eclectic Trends today, where I was honoured to have contributed to the October issue of What Do Bloggers Collect? The blog's author Gudy Herder has been an inspiration to me ever since I first discovered her blog and saw this video of her at work, styling a interior shoot. Based in Barcelona, Gudy's work as a stylist and international visual merchandiser takes her around the world. Reporting back on her travels and inspiring finds along the way, I am constantly in awe, and a tad envious!!

TDC Style | Style Card

Last week I told you about my new Styling Service TDC Style. If you missed that post, take a look here. Thanks for all the positive feedback so far, especially to Amy at Milo and Mitzy who summed it up so nicely here on her blog yesterday!

The TDC Style Map has been created to give clients a complete room plan based on their budget, including colour palette, furniture and accessories, as well as a comprehensive shopping list. I will be able to work to scale, with the dimensions of the room or space, and for those who live locally, they can take advantage of designer discounts. I can also order the products and help style the rooms in person.

I also want to cater to those living further afield. Being a global blog, I receive requests from readers far and wide, wanting advice on everything from paint colours, sourcing of products, choosing and hanging art, to styling a whole room. For this, I have come up with the TDC Style Card, a directional moodboard that will include a colour palette and suggestions for furniture and finishing touches based on a specific look or image. I will also give recommendations on where to buy products online, wherever that may be in the world, in fitting with a specified budget.

Home Build | Kidsroom + TDC Style Map

A couple of weeks ago I mentioned that I'd been working on a new blog-related interiors venture, and I'm happy to report that it's coming together, albeit a bit slowly. I'm going to be providing an interior styling service called TDC Style. TDC being the abbreviations for The Design Chaser. As you know I like to keep things simple around here! 

I'm currently setting up some styling options and pricing etc, and will let you know about those in due course. In the meantime, I thought I'd share one of my ideas with you, the TDC Style Map, so that you can get an idea of what to expect. Style Map is a room moodboard, which brings together ideas for a particular space. It includes a colour palette, furniture and accessories, together with a breakdown of items and where they can be sourced. 

This little project here is a personal one, in that it's the Style Map for my eldest son's bedroom in our new home. While we will be incorporating some of his existing pieces, I had no trouble substituting these with some cool new online finds to create the moodboard. Both the boys rooms are quite small, but they have very good built-in wardrobes, so we've done away with the dresser which worked well in previous homes. The monochrome palette will provide a great base for some bright pops of colour, in this case turquoise and yellow.
