THE DESIGN CHASER

New + Noted

5.02.2017

Today I thought I'd share a few new things which you may have seen popping up on my Instagram feed and stories of late. For the first time, Aesop has introduced a trio of Aromatique Room Sprays into its permanent range, and I was lucky to receive one of the distinctive new scents to experience. Named for an ancient Greek port town, Istros is an uplifting blend of Pink Pepper, Lavender and Mimosa, layered with warm undertones of Cedar and Sandalwood and a hint of Tobacco. Refined, floral and smoky, the beautiful aroma is both calming and uplifting. A beautiful new addition to my office, I've been using it all around the house. Created to revive the senses and redefine your living or working environment, Dr Kate Forbes, Aesop’s General Manager of Products and R&D says "Each Room Spray features botanical extracts of the finest quality to provide an enduring scent to transform your space, and subtly dissipate over time.” The other scents that make up the new trio are Olous, a vibrant blend of green and citrus botanicals and Cythera which delivers a warm, woody and spicy fragrance. Each will launch in Aesop signature stores and stockists globally on July 3, 2017.

My favourite Swedish watch brand TID has launched a new collaborative platform, TID Canvas, inviting a selection of artists and designers to interpret the brand’s iconic TID No.1 watch, resulting in a limited annual production. The original No.1 watch designers, Swedish design studio Form Us With Love is the first in a long line of artist and designers to be approached by the brand. Asked to create TID Canvas 001, the studio set the tone for the transformation of their own creation, by stripping the No.1 to its bare minimum — white, monochrome and dismantled — in a limited edition production of five hundred exclusively enumerated watches.

Also on my desk, the My Residence Bookazine and Elle Decoration Sweden, very kindly sent over to me by Robin Klang and Ejub Bicic from Perspective Studio, whose Stockholm store was featured recently on the blog. Their beautiful home features in both publications so if you get a chance to pick up a copy of either (My Residence is in English), I highly recommend it.

Lastly, you can see a glimpse of the new Jo Malone Limited Edition Cologne Star Magnolia on my desk. Hand delivered in a beautiful box of fresh roses and magnolias, it certainly brightened up my Monday. Featuring a tantalising mix of Spirited star magnolia, magnolia leaf and orange blossom with a kiss of lemon, ginger and shiso, the scent of spring is also available in Jo Malone's London's first Hair Mist. Laden with high-shine conditioning treatments, I can't wait to try it!
