I'm a little bit in limbo when it comes to rugs right now. Like a lot of things, they get moved around or taken away for styling purposes and our living room has been left bare ever since we got our new sofas. I haven't really minded because I love our flooring but I am always on the lookout! Rugs can inject an incredible textural element into the home and the warmth they provide underfoot makes them especially appealing in winter. I've had the pleasure of working with some amazing rugs, all of feature the natural tones and graphic elements I love. You will no doubt remember the beautiful Bauen rug at Citta Design that I styled in-store. Others include the gorgeous Palancia Rug by BoConcept and the incredible Undyed Jute + White Nodi Rug from Tessuti, both of which worked beautifully in our living room. Armadillo is another amazing rug brand that I loved styling in the norsu shoot, and I've since been admiring their new collection that they showcased recently at Den Fair in Melbourne.
New to Simon James Design, these exquisite rugs by Danskina are hand woven from 100% NZ wool. The Bold 612 is made using a combination of mechanical and hand-spun yarns resulting in a thick, warm rug with natural irregularites. The Duotone 191 is all about simplicity, with a flat woven basket construction. Both are available in many different colourways. See the entire collection here.
Loved every rug, they're so pretty x

I just love them. The composition look so calm and relaxing... I wish my house could look like that! Few days ago I just started redecorating and ordered a few beautiful antique carpets from Doris Leslie Blau. I will be sure to send you some pictures when I'm done. I hope you will be proud!
