We're right in the swing of school holidays here in NZ so it's all about the kids right now. We're having loads of fun, but I do find myself dreaming of an exotic escape from time to time. The San Giorgio Hotel would do nicely! Located on the island of Mykonos, one of the top tourist destinations in Greece, it is nestled between the beautiful Paradise and Paraga beaches. Known to be one of the most scenic areas of the island, it also has a cosmopolitan flair and vibrant night-life.
Location aside, it's the beautiful design of this hotel that has me pining. A collaboration between Thomas Heyne and Mario Hertel of the world-famous Paradise Club, and Design Hotels, the 34-room boutique hotel is stunning. I love the Mediterranean style with its neutral colour palette and simple, rustic decor. Can't you just picture yourself on one of those swing seats with a good book, or lazing on an outdoor hammock, poolside. I sure can!
You will find more photographs over at lambsandlions.com, the site of Michael Schickinger, who is responsible for the creative direction, interior design and experience concept of this amazing hotel. I must also thank flodeau.com, where I first spotted this great find. You can visit sangiorgio-mykonoshotel.com for more information on facilities and bookings.
Right, back to the kids... and more day-dreaming!

I love this place! How many hotels do you know of with a cluster of hanging chairs in the reception area?! x
