A 60s Swedish Home Transformed by Broberg & Ridderstråle

12.08.2017

This classic 60s home has been beautifully transformed by Swedish design duo Broberg & Ridderstråle into a luxurious family home, while retaining the character of the original villa. Located on the island of Lidingö, east of Stockholm, the house was designed in 1966 by Gustaf Rosenberg and Olle Stål from Rosenberg Architects. Undergoing extensive renovations to improve the layout and add further character, it features beautiful sloping ceilings, enviable light and incredible views of the Lidingö Sound and the Nackasidan Nature Reserve. Fine detailing and the use of luxurious materials like leather and wood can been seen throughout the expansive home. A selection of timeless, functional furniture compliments the architecture while enhancing the overall elegance of the spaces.

Broberg & Ridderstråle are known for their iconic product designs, many of which are featured in this beautiful home. They include the Leaf Lamp for Muuto, Tati Tables for Asplund, Basel Sofas for Adea, Julius Square serving trolley for Klong and the Gloria candleholder/vase also for Klong. Take a look at their extensive design portfolio here and find out more about his project over at Residence
