Creating a Cosy Living Room with Marks & Spencer

4.03.2017

Winter is fast approaching and that means more time spent indoors, with the living room being my number one place to relax and unwind. The change in temperature is also the perfect excuse for a seasonal update, so I've teamed up with Marks & Spencer to introduce you to some cosy elements and stylish winter essentials from their homewares collection.

One of the easiest ways to transform a living space is with new cushions and throws, and Marks & Spencer have a beautiful range on offer. In keeping with the warm and muted honey tones I'm loving right now, I chose a range of styles to inject both texture and personality into our space. My favourite cushion would have to be the Wool Blend Conran Crewel Circles Cushion which features a graphic style, embroidery detailing and luxurious feather inner.

Winter calls for snuggling up on the sofa with a hot cuppa. Whether I'm by myself, hanging out with family or entertaining friends, the preparation of tea or coffee is a ritual in itself, and beautiful tableware is a must. With so many options on offer at Marks & Spencer I decided to choose a couple of different styles in complimentary colours. The Hampton series features a classic and elegant range of fine china pieces that fit in perfectly with my understated style. In contrast, the Richmond pieces are made from stoneware and have a more contemporary feel. Both gorgeous, I love that I can mix and match from day to day.

Two of my winter essentials are candles, which provide a warming ambiance, and fresh flowers to liven up the space. With a wonderful selection of candles, candle holders and vases on offer, I decided to choose a couple of statement pieces to create a bit of wow factor. The first is the stunning Conran Wide Bottle Vase which comes is a sophisticated smoke grey. The generous size makes it perfect for housing long stemmed flowers but it also makes a striking standalone piece.

Brass is one of my favourite accents, and I couldn't go past the Statement Tea Light Holder. While I did envisage it looking amazing as a centre piece on our dining table, I have found that it transitions easily to the living room, creating a really cosy vibe when the candles are lit.
