Moody Monday

8.03.2015

It's actually far from a moody Monday. The sun is shining and I'm working on some really exciting projects right now, but these images I've curated are certainly giving off that vibe. Darker palettes, warm wood accents, water colour artworks are a few of the key elements that together, create depth and a dash of drama. While it's tempting to get out the dark paint or replace the floorboards with a dark wood, you can create the same effect by adding a few accents here or there, although I highly recommend carrying the theme throughout your home, as has been done beautifully in this first example.

The 'Blur' print by Esther de Groot is from The Poster Club sets the scene perfectly. The work of Helsinki-based interior designer Laura Seppänen, it has a distinctly Finnish style. The layering of deep grey tones and warm wood elements has created wonderful contrasts and warmth to the white backdrop.

I love this rustic kitchen styling by  Artilleriet announcing the opening of their newest store earlier this year.

Styling by Lotta Agaton with photography by Bohman Sjöstrand and art direction by Peter Herrman

Impeccable styling as always from Lotta Agaton, the bird's eye view vividly captures the depths and contrasts. I love it!

Styling by Kira Corban

Some Moody blues to finish, I love this natural, effortless styling which actually takes a lot of skill to achieve.
