Abstract Art Prints

10.12.2017

More and more lately I've been drawn to abstract art due to its strong visual appeal. A composition of shape, form, colour and line, these elements compliment the Nordic style of interiors I love. You may remember the first print below from my Dulux Kinship interpretation by talented Finnish stylist and interior designer Riikka Kantinkoski. I love the simplicity of the shapes and warm colours of this print series.

These next prints are part of the Hepworth Collection by Atelier by Mintstudio and were created in celebration of the British artist and sculptor, Barbara Hepworth, whose work as a sculptor became recognised world-wide at a time where female artists were rare. Known for her organic, simple shapes and her refined sense of texture and colours, these elements have been beautifully translated into an abstract series.

Caroline Walls is a much loved Australian artist working across a number of media, including painting, drawing, soft sculpture, and print-making.  Earlier this year she held her second solo exhibition, Another Thought, at  Modern Times in Melbourne. With a highly skilled and fluid approach to aesthetics, Caroline's paintings have a strong focus on the female form. Grounded in a sensitive use of colour and a deep understanding of composition and form, she is able to convey notions of sensuality, inner beauty and the intangible qualities associated with femininity. The prints below are from The She & Her Collection and feature beautiful shapes, strong graphics and a play of neutral, nude and navy tones.
