Not your typical Pop-Up, The Design Files Open House 2017 is a unique curated event bringing together the work of over 60 Australian makers, designers and artists, presented within the ‘ultimate Australian Home’ setting. A bustling, colourful space furnished with locally-designed furniture, homewares and lighting, there will also be artwork by talented Australian artists, books by local authors and much more. An amazing event open to the public for four days only, the best part is that everything can be purchased on the spot!
After a two-year hiatus, The Design Files Open House 2017 will be staged at a new location in Collingwood, built from scratch within a lofty, light-filled warehouse space. Featuring an expansive open-plan layout, incorporating moody master bedroom, playful kids space, contemporary living and dining zones, there's also a home bar, new custom-designed kitchen and landscaped courtyard. Painted with four key colours from the Dulux 2018 Colour Forecast, the Open House will showcase NAU, the new Australian-designed furniture collection from Cult, and the latest kitchen and laundry appliances from Miele. All this alongside an incredible lineup of creatives including some of my personal favourites Bobby Clark, Henry Wilson, Nicolette Johnson, Douglas & Bec, Ross Gardam, Den Holm and Anna Varendorff.
For the first time there will be a Speakers Series of talks featuring TDF founder Lucy Feagins, along with an inspiring line-up of local makers, stylists, and small business operators with wisdom to share.
The Design Files Open House will be held in Collingwood, Melbourne from the 23rd to the 26th November. Find out more here.
