Living Room Walls | New In

8.13.2014

My walls at home are an ever-evolving playground for me when it comes to styling. I've ticked a few things off my wishlist over the last couple of weeks and thought I'd share them with you today. Those who follow me on Instagram got a sneak peek at my Seletti Neon Art last week. Now available from the Seletti Boutiques in Auckland and Queenstown, I'll be introducing this company properly on the blog next month when they launch online!

Choosing the Seletti neon letters for our wall was fun but challenging! Seletti do offer some great ideas for words such as 'white light' which I love, but I wanted to come up with something a bit different, while only using a few letters. A recent Pinterest find, I came across a fun play on the term 'etc', with the letters standing for 'end of thinking capacity'. At that point I hadn't decided whether the letters would go in our living room or bedroom but either way, I knew it would fit perfectly. I work long hours in my home office, so when I'm in these other spaces the brain tends to switch off! Luckily Dean liked it too, and we decided on this corner of the living room, which needed a bit of love. We're just waiting for the power pack to come in - I can't wait to light it up!

Next up, I got the beautifully minimal Yeh Wall Table by Menu from the Simon James Concept Store. I chose the low table in light grey but it also comes in a tall size, in white, nude and moss green. I was deciding where it would go last week - it also looks fab in the hallway, my office and as a bedside table - when a surprise package arrived, the beautiful Diamond Poster from OY! Featured on one of my blog wishlists from a while back, the stunning artwork is by my friend and talented blogger Carol, from Costa Rica. While I would like to frame the poster, I couldn't wait and quickly stuck it up on the wall to take a photo. It fits in so perfectly with our living room and the Yeh Wall Table, I've decided to leave it there a bit longer! Available from Society6, Carol is adding to her gorgeous range all the time so make sure you check out her pieces here, as well as at her Etsy shop. I also recommend you follow her beautiful blog and Instagram feed

Lastly, I have two gorgeous new prints on my picture ledge thanks to the very sweet and talented Hanne Løvdal of Lovedales Studio. The Bat Cat and Falling Philodendron that I featured on the blog recently are perfect for our relaxed, kid-friendly space downstairs. They have also given me a great excuse to once again move things around!

  1. Love, love, love your new wall additions! Especially the contrast between the industrial-like neon sign and soft and minimal poster and menu table arrangement. Well done!

  4. The Etc. is sly as a fox you know, be careful that the light into doesn’t restart the brain activity… "Eureka, light dawned on me!" ;-)

    Beautiful home indeed.
