Seamless Colour

It's been a long time since I've shown you our downstairs living room because it's a bit of a work in progress right now. Looking back at these photos taken over two years ago, it's changed a lot since then, especially the sofa side of the room. Most recently we've moved the kids desks into their bedrooms - at their request - so I've been left with some space to play with. I'd like to paint the room in a new colour and install some wall-mounted shelving, which will provide both storage and a shelf to display things. I love the idea of painting these shelves and the IKEA picture ledges (currently on the opposite side of the room) in the same colour as the walls. The images below demonstrate how effective this can be, in that the shelves blend in seamlessly, allowing books, art and other small accessories to standout.

Apologies for not posting everyday this week, I've been working full-time on an interior project which I will finally be able to share with you next week!

Happy Friday!
