Nordic Japanese Fusion and Timeless Rattan by H&M Home

7.04.2019

Scrolling through Instagram these last few days, many Northern hemisphere friends are preparing to head away to coastal locations for their summer holidays. It's hard not to feel a little envious, but there's also something quite nice about cosying up indoors as we settle into the winter here. H&M Home's new Autumn collection imagery is providing some lovely inspiration for living spaces in terms of colour palette and textures. Soft hues with warm caramel tones are infused with brass and wood accents, while the resurgence of rattan continues, providing a timeless element for interior spaces.

Following on from their debut furniture and lighting launch last year, H&M Home have updated some of the initial designs for Autumn, while introducing new pieces. Among these are some beautiful coffee and side tables in light ash and marble, and the rattan pieces which include a wall-hung cabinet and plant table. There are also new floor and and ceiling lamps, my favourite being the paper ones which feature a distinctive blend of Nordic and Japanese aesthetics.

The Art Deco style we saw in last year's launch has continued through to the new collection pieces, with a brass lamp that features fun fringing detail and elegant designs inspired by the lily of the valley.

I love how versatile the rattan pieces are. Styled on their own or together, they provide a range of places to display plants and favourite objects around the home.
