norsu | Introducing Jenny Liz Rome, the ART LAB + Reader Offer

11.12.2015

While many of us are still recovering from the excitement of their last update, norsu interiors have been hard at work on some wonderful new projects which I'm delighted to share with you today. The first is a collaboration with the artist Jenny Liz Rome, which follows on beautifully from the Ruben Ireland launch earlier this year. In fact I was very interested to discover that norsu's best selling print, Marianna, is a collaborative illustration between Ruben Ireland and Jenny Liz Rome. Based in Ontario, Canada, Jenny launched her career in 2009 after graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. Seeking to create a style she could completely call her own Jenny experimented with different themes and ideas, in particular those of femininity and the wild. Her first post-grad body of work "Ladies Of The Flies" led her into the world of fashion illustration, working for companies like Marie Claire, UNDIZ, Hairhouse Warehouse, SONY, and Colombia Records. These days Jenny's work can be found all over the globe in galleries and design stores.

Seeing her illustrations in many of their favourite Scandinavian homes via Instagram and other design forums, norsu founders Kristy Sadlier and Nat Wheeler say that securing Jenny's work was a no brainer - the dramatic nature of her works, teamed with their extreme femininity and beauty makes them the perfect addition to their collection."Over recent months, we have seen huge interest in Ruben Ireland's striking and bold prints, and a complete surge in our fashion prints from artists such as Magdalena Tyboni and Via Martine. For us, Jenny's work represents the ultimate merge between both aesthetics, and is an absolute winner in our books."

To begin with norsu are releasing five prints, with plans to expand their range over time. These include Bear #2, Bear #3 and Rose #2 which have been chosen because of their synergies with Marianna"We want to bring our customers on a journey, and provide them with an ability to grow their existing art collections with ease." Lions and Bears Party was selected because of its landscape orientation which is becoming increasingly popular for those creating gallery walls in their homes, while Kristy and Nat say that Bright Pink Part 2 was just too pretty not to include!

norsu are also looking forward to future print releases which they say have a softer palette and are absolutely breathtaking! All prints are available in 61 x 91cm, to fit perfectly in the new large sized Ikea frames.

The release of these prints coincides with the recent opening of the norsu ART LAB, the first purpose built gallery space dedicated to Scandinavian art within Australia. Located within the newly renovated norsu store, which as you can see has now doubled in size, this is a truly unique and exciting concept. Seeing more and more of their customers embracing the Scandinavian gallery wall trend within their own homes, this visually eye-catching space provides them with the perfect destination to easily select art.
