Interior Books | Wishlist

1.17.2013

There are three fabulous interior books that are high on on my wishlist right now. The first is the highly anticipated Northern Lights, by one of my all-time favourite bloggers Emma Fexeus of Emmas Designblogg. Emma announced just yesterday that the book is now available for pre-order, due for release on March 25th. I'm not sure I can wait! The book shows a stunning selection of work, revealing what makes Scandinavian design so exceptional. I can only imagine how beautiful this book will be. Unfortunately there are no images yet, but I'll keep you posted!

The second book I'm coveting is Decorate Workshop, by acclaimed blogger and author Holly Becker of Decor8. It accompanies her first book Decorate, an international bestseller and is an essential planner for home decorators, filled with 250 photographs of gorgeous interiors. I was really excited when I found out via Vosgesparis that the home of it's author Desiree is featured in the book. Having been a fan of Desiree's blog and her incredible styling for some time, I was thrilled to see a sneak peak and of course it's made me want the book even more. The photo shoot was carried out by photographer Debi Treloar

I love the pared-back styling, framed posters and Desiree's signature moodboards. Mismatched furniture and vintage touches add to the cool, relaxed vibe.

When I came across images of Naja Munthe's home on 79 Ideas recently, I did a bit more digging and discovered that the pictures make up part of her recently published book Fashionable Living. Naja is the co-founder of renowned Danish fashion brand Munthe plus Simonsen, and this beautiful coffee table book takes you on a tour of Naja's private homes, charming shops, inspiring studio and behind the scenes of her exciting fashion shows. The incredible images have been shot by Danish photographer Morten Koldby

These images are of Naja's beautifully elegant Copenhagen home. I love the neutral tones and black details, especially the pendant lights and internal windows. The bedroom, which graces the cover of the book is stunning. What I would do for those artworks! To see more images of this home and Naja's summerhouse in Northern Sealand take a look here, and for a peek at the fashion show photos, look here

  1. Isn't it amazing how a simple arrangement of branches in a clear vase can make such a statement? I love the minimalist styling of Scandinavian Design.

  2. Decorate workshop is on my list too, I can't believe I haven't got it yet. Thank you for introducing Fashionable living, it looks stunning and loving the bedroom also, the artwork to die for - do you know who it's by? I quite like the look of the two single duvet covers, they do that in Germany and Austria. M x

    1. According to Danish magazine Mad & Bolig, the paintings were made especially for the room by Naja's friend Elsa Sidsner who I looked up:

  3. I have just ordered Decorate Workshop and got an email this morning to say it should be here next week - can't wait, I love Decorate, so am sure this one will be amazing too. And I featured the cover photo of Naja's on Facebook not realising there was a book - love those paintings. x
